FAQs

Ross Elledge

You can book a consultation with me by filling in the booking form or calling the Practice Assistants (PAs) on +44(0)203 326 3827. I will personally triage all patient enquiries and bookings.

Whilst a referral letter from your NHS or private General Practitioner (GP) or dentist is useful, it is not essential. I am happy to take direct enquiries and self-referrals for all conditions within my specialty remit.

An initial 30-minute consultation will cost £220.00, with 15-minute follow-up consultations costing £140.00. If you are insured, I am fee assured for all major insurers, so there are no hidden costs.

Yes of course. I recognise that you may need moral support and an additional set of eyes and ears. If you want a family member or friend there, then please bring them along.

I have prepared comprehensive written information leaflets on many of the conditions I diagnose and treat, so you can read and digest this information at leisure following our consultation. In addition, I will write you a detailed letter of our discussion and treatment plan moving forwards. You can always contact me with follow-up questions at enquiries@elledgesurgical.com, as my priority is making sure you understand everything, every step of the way.

Sometimes, the consultation itself is enough to make a diagnosis and all that is required is simple reassurance or onward referral. In many instances, further investigations will be required that will either be performed on the day or within a few days to weeks of the consultation. We will meet back to discuss these and decide on the right treatment for you.

If you have private insurance, then I will provide care on a fee assured basis with no hidden costs, requesting an uplift for more complex and challenging cases where applicable. If you are self-funding treatment, you will be provided with a full quote and transparent breakdown of costs before deciding whether or not you should proceed.

Once we have decided together that surgery is the best option for you, my Practice Assistants (PAs) will be in touch to find a time and date to suit you from a range of hospitals and locations. We will work around you, ensuring that you have the minimum amount of disruption to your life, while I focus on getting you better.

Much of the surgery provided is daycase surgery which does not require an overnight stay. If you do require an overnight stay, this will be in one of the top independent hospitals in the West Midlands with a private room and appropriate level of care for the complexity of surgery. I will personally be “on call” for you during your inpatient stay.

If you have any issues then in the first instance you can contact the hospital where you underwent treatment (full contact details will be provided on discharge). The hospital will be able to get hold of me and I will be in touch by telephone and/or personal review as soon as feasible, including out of hours. I have appropriate cross cover arrangements with Consultant colleagues and junior staff at all sites.

Your surgery will always be done by me. For more complex procedures, I may engage the services of a colleague to assist me, but I will always be your primary surgeon and responsible for looking after you from start to finish.
