Expertise: Skin cancer surgery

Skin cancer surgeryThis lovely lady had a skin cancer on her upper lip that was difficult to see and in a critical area. With this in mind we decided to go for Mohs micrographic surgery with a colleague in Dermatology carefully removing the tumour in serial sections to achieve the best balance between clear margins and minimal defect size. The resultant defect is shown in the photos.

Skin cancer surgeryThen it was over to Mr Elledge for the repair. Using a combination of local flaps, tips, tricks and a bit of artistic flair, the result is a natural looking outcome even at only a few weeks after the surgery. This was done under local anaesthesia, so minimal downtime for the patient who was back to work and daily life within the shortest possible time span.

If you have a skin cancer in a critical area and want to come away smiling (quite literally), then book in to see Mr Elledge today. With Fellowship training in aesthetic surgery and skin cancer, a network of fantastic colleagues in Dermatology and an eye for detail, let’s get you the best results we can!
